In 2020 The London Gardener celebrated a very special anniversary: over the past quarter of a century it has published 218 articles by 123 authors on a diverse range of obscure but fascinating aspects of London’s landscape history. Since its inception in 1995 the journal has achieved significant critical acclaim; according to Gillian Tindall, writing in the TLS in October 2015, The London Gardener is in garden history circles ‘highly rated for the excellence of much of the writing and its wide and eclectic choice of topics’. To mark this anniversary the Trust decided to take The London Gardener online in order to make the journal and its contents more widely available to a much greater audience across the metropolis, the UK and abroad.
